2012 West Coast Scooter Trip

WA - Mt. Rainier National Park

We left Beaver Bay Campground and headed for Mt. Rainier. We paralleled I-5 on frontage roads going North and eventually turned East to head for the park. We passed through rain here and there along the way. The top of Rainier was socked in and we never saw the top. We managed to get the tent dried out and set up during a two hour window when it quit raining. We hiked to a couple waterfalls and saw a couple more from the road. We were camping at 3100 feet and went up to the Visitor Center at about 5400 feet. The snow level was at about 4500 feet. The Visitor Center was in the “clouds”. Visibility in a couple areas was down to about 100 feet. Click on any of the thumbnail pictures to see an expanded view.
