Alaska 2016

Rainbow Falls, Wrangell

We wanted to see Rainbow Falls but it was 4 miles from town. It would take too much time to walk there so we rented bicycles. The trail to Rainbow Falls passes through the rain forest. 70 to 80% of the trees are Western Hemlock and the rest are Sitka Spruce. There are a few Cedar and a Birch here and there but very few and far between. The trail has been highly improved and consists almost entirely of boardwalk and steps. There are 583 steps to the observation platform (No, I did not count them, it was in the trail guide). The waterfall was 100 feet. ( Okay no more selfies!!!)
